The American Society for

Reproductive Immunology

Dear Colleagues,

The 2017 Annual Meeting of the American Society for Reproductive Immunology was held from September 17-20, 2017 at the Double Tree Hilton Hotel, Downtown Chicago. Bridging immunity with infection, inflammation and implantation for better reproductive health was the theme of this year’s meeting. The Meeting was preceded by a Clinical Symposium which focused on all aspects of reproductive immunology.

With the advancement in discoveries and innovations in reproductive immunology, emerging information shows that there may exist similarities in mechanisms involved in the pregnancy associated immunosuppression to tumor-induced immunosuppression. This potential similarity opens up a new horizon of information exchange and collaboration between the reproductive immunologists in general with tumor immunologists. Therefore, to bring together this new horizon of scientific information and potential collaboration, a scientific session on “tumor immunology” is planned in this year’s annual meeting. We believe this additional session will foster collaboration between investigators involved in these two fields.

Research funding is becoming more and more scarce and difficult. To encourage and enable young investigators as well as make them competitive and successful, there is no alternative to master grantsmanship.  One of the special events in this year’s annual meeting will have a workshop on writing of grant proposals. In most cases attending such a workshop requires registration fee. However, to enable maximum participation, this workshop will be open to all participants with no additional fee.

September in Chicago offers best to the visitors. This year’s annual meeting has some exceptional social events including welcome dinner, dinner cruise in Navy-pier on Lake Michigan and the Gala dinner. In addition, there will be arrangements for guided tour and water taxi to explore Chicago in land and in water! We invite you to be a part of these outstanding events showcasing the emerging bench to bedside information as well as the advancements and innovations in the field of reproductive immunology. This meeting will pave the way for fruitful networking and further collaborations.

We ask you to submit your abstract by June 19, 2017. The organizing committee is very happy to announce that there will be travel awards in this year’s meeting for outstanding abstracts. In addition, Gudson Awards will also be available as usual. Moreover, a picture competition will also be held this year and please submit your outstanding images by that same date. In addition to promoting imaging technology in our field, this competition also unravels the amazing intricacy that exists within our systems.

We look forward to hosting you and your research team in September!

Best regards,
