The American Society for

Reproductive Immunology

Committee Description

The Fellowship Committee consists of eleven members: two Co-Chairs and nine regular members. Co-Chairs are appointed by the President and confirmed by Council, serving a single non-renewable six-year term. Regular members are suggested by the Co-Chairs and confirmed by Council, serving staggered three-year terms. The committee is composed of members with expertise across Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and Infectious Disease.

All Co-Chairs and members must hold an MD or MD/PhD degree, be a certified OB/GYN, be an active member of ASRI in good standing, and demonstrate academic excellence through mentorship, scholarly work, and active clinical practice.

In cases where a fellowship application is received from an international institution, a local committee will be established under the Fellowship Committee to oversee the administration and activities of the program in the respective country.

This committee is dedicated to identifying, nurturing, and certifying experts in reproductive immunology, and to recognizing their distinctive abilities and knowledge at the intersection of reproductive immunology and clinical practice.

The role of the committee is to:

  • Review and approve guidelines for the fellowship curriculum
  • Develop and manage the fellowship application process, including setting application fees for institutions and individuals
  • Review and approve institutional fellowship applications and evaluate the ongoing progress of active fellowships
  • Set policy and procedures governing the fellowship program
  • Organize and coordinate the clinical symposium at the ASRI Annual Meeting, ensuring the symposium meets CME approval requirements
  • Prepare an annual report on fellowship activities to be presented to the Council and at the ASRI Annual Business Meeting

Committee Mission

The Fellowship Committee ensures that ASRI fellowships represent the highest standard of training and academic excellence in reproductive immunology. The committee will:

  1. Certify Excellence — Establish and uphold rigorous curriculum standards, application processes, and evaluation procedures that identify and recognize outstanding clinicians and researchers in the field; and
  2. Advance the Field — Expand the reach and impact of ASRI fellowship training through clinical programming at the Annual Meeting, ongoing program oversight, and support for international fellowship initiatives.
